Do Samsung air conditioners come with free installation? No. The price shown covers the air conditioner itself; installation is booked and paid for separately through a qualified installer.
Selected models may include free delivery to eligible areas, but delivery and installation are separate services and may take place on different days.
Whether you choose a wall-mounted WindFree™ model, a GEO WindFree™ heat pump, a ducted system or a 360 round cassette, it must be professionally installed. Check the individual product page before ordering so you know exactly what is included. -
What deals are available on Samsung air conditioners?Samsung New Zealand offers different benefits on selected air conditioners rather than one discount across the whole range.
Depending on the model, you may find free delivery to eligible areas, interest-free finance, trade-in credit for an old device, trade-up savings for recycling an old appliance, or a reduced price shown on the product listing.
Offers change, so check the product page for the model you want to see what is currently available. Lending criteria and terms and conditions apply. -
Can I pay for a WindFree™ air conditioner in monthly instalments?Yes. Eligible WindFree™ models, including the AI Smart GEO WindFree™ heat pump and the wall-mounted AI Smart Airise WindFree™, can be bought using monthly repayments.
Samsung New Zealand offers interest-free finance on eligible online orders through its finance partners, so you can spread the cost instead of paying everything upfront.
The plans available to you will appear at checkout. Minimum spend requirements may apply to longer terms, and approval is subject to lending criteria, fees and terms and conditions. -
Can I get an interest-free payment plan on a Samsung air conditioner?Yes. Interest-free plans are available on eligible air conditioners bought from the Samsung New Zealand online store.
The plans are provided by Samsung's finance partners, so the options available depend on the card or finance account you use. A minimum spend may apply to longer interest-free terms.
You can review the available plans at checkout before placing your order. Lending criteria, establishment and account fees, and terms and conditions apply. A standard interest rate may be charged on any balance left after the interest-free period ends. -
Where can I buy a Samsung air conditioner online? You can buy directly from the Samsung New Zealand online store, where the full air conditioner and heat pump range is listed in one place.
You can filter by type and capacity, compare wall-mounted, ducted and cassette systems, and review each model's specifications before ordering. Buying direct may also give you access to benefits such as free delivery on selected models, interest-free finance, trade-in and trade-up offers.
Most available models can be added to your basket straight away. If a model is temporarily out of stock, choose the notification option to hear when it returns. -
How long is the compressor covered by the warranty? The compressor may have a different warranty period from the rest of the air conditioner, and the exact cover depends on the model.
The main air conditioner range page does not list compressor warranty periods. Open the support or specifications section on the product page for the model you are considering, as wall-mounted, ducted and cassette systems may have different terms.
Once your air conditioner has been installed, register it with Samsung so your warranty and support information is easier to find later. -
What warranty comes with a Samsung air conditioner?Warranty cover in New Zealand varies by model, and different parts of the system may be covered for different lengths of time. For example, the indoor unit, outdoor unit and compressor may each have their own warranty period.
Check the warranty details on the product page for the exact model you are considering rather than assuming one period applies to the whole range.
Correct installation also matters, as warranty support generally depends on the system being fitted by a qualified installer. Registering the unit with Samsung after installation is recommended too. -
Is a WindFree™ or ducted system better for everyday home use?For a bedroom or living room, a wall-mounted WindFree™ model is usually the simpler choice. It releases cool air through thousands of micro holes, helping the room feel comfortable without a strong draught blowing directly at you.
A ceiling-mounted ducted system or 360 round cassette is better suited to whole-home cooling or larger open-plan spaces, especially if you prefer the equipment to be built into the ceiling and kept out of sight.
The best choice depends on how many rooms you want to heat and cool, your home's layout and how visible you want the system to be. -
Does an inverter air conditioner use less electricity?Generally, yes. An inverter air conditioner adjusts the compressor speed to match what the room needs, which helps it use electricity more efficiently.
A non-inverter unit runs at one fixed speed and repeatedly switches on and off to maintain the temperature. An inverter system can slow down once the room reaches your chosen temperature instead of continually restarting.
Samsung New Zealand's listed models use Digital Inverter Boost technology. Selected models also include AI Auto and SmartThings, allowing you to monitor energy use and automatically adjust the operating mode to suit the room. -
What size air conditioner is best for a bedroom?Samsung New Zealand lists capacity in kilowatts rather than BTU. The closest bedroom-sized options are 2.5 kW and 3.5 kW in the GEO WindFree™ heat pump range, while the wall-mounted Airise WindFree™ is available in 2.5 kW.
For a typical bedroom, 2.5 kW is usually the better-value choice because it is less likely to be oversized. Consider 3.5 kW for a larger bedroom, a room with large windows or poor insulation, or one that opens into another space.
Room size is only part of the calculation, so check the capacity guidance on the product page or ask a qualified installer before deciding. -
Which air conditioner capacity should I choose for my room?Samsung New Zealand rates its air conditioners in kilowatts, with options ranging from smaller bedrooms to large open-plan spaces.
The wall-mounted Airise WindFree™ is available in 2.5 kW for a bedroom or small room. The GEO WindFree™ heat pump range includes 2.5 kW, 3.5 kW, 5.0 kW and 6.8 kW models, covering bedrooms through to larger living areas.
For bigger spaces, the ceiling-mounted ducted system is available in 7.1 kW, while the 360 round cassette comes in 7.1 kW, 10.0 kW, 12.0 kW and 14.0 kW. A qualified installer can confirm the right size based on the room's volume, insulation and layout. -
Is a Samsung air conditioner quiet enough to use at night?WindFree™ models are designed for gentle, quiet cooling, which can make them a comfortable choice at night. In WindFree™ mode, air passes through micro holes at a low fan speed instead of being pushed out in a strong stream, reducing both noise and direct draughts.
Sound levels still vary by model and operating mode, so check the noise ratings in the product specifications if quiet operation is important to you.
The installation position and furnishings in the room can also affect how loud the unit sounds in practice. -
What types of Samsung air conditioner are available?Samsung New Zealand offers three main types of air conditioner, each designed for a different kind of space.
Wall-mounted models, including the AI Smart Airise WindFree™ and AI Smart GEO WindFree™ heat pump, are a practical choice for heating and cooling individual rooms. Ceiling-mounted ducted systems are hidden from view and suit whole-home climate control. The 360 round cassette also sits in the ceiling and distributes air in all directions, making it a good option for large or open-plan rooms.
You can compare all three types, their available capacities and current offers on the air conditioner range page. -
What is WindFree™ cooling, and how is it different from standard cooling? The main difference is how the cool air reaches you. A standard air conditioner blows a stream of air into the room. This cools the space quickly but can feel draughty if you sit directly in its path.
WindFree™ technology releases air through thousands of micro holes instead, spreading it more evenly so you feel much less direct wind. Selected models also include Digital Inverter Boost for faster initial cooling and AI Auto, which changes modes to suit the room conditions.
Features vary by model, so check the specifications on the product page for the unit you are considering. -
What should I check before ordering an air conditioner online?Start with capacity. The kW rating needs to suit the room's size, insulation and layout; an undersized unit will have to work harder than it should.
Next, choose the right type: a wall-mounted unit for a single room, or a ducted or 360 round cassette system if you want the equipment built into the ceiling. On the product page, check the full specifications, warranty details and any finance or delivery benefits for that model.
Finally, arrange installation. It is not included in the product price, so booking a qualified installer before delivery can help you avoid delays.
